Dinosaurs among us

From July 11, 2025 to July 5, 2026

The age of dinosaurs never ended, the age of dinosaurs is now.

The evolution of life on Earth is filled with astonishing episodes. Yet one story stands out above the rest: the transition from the charismatic and familiar dinosaurs that dominated the planet for around 170 million years to a new and smaller form that now fills our skies — birds.

Millions of years ago, the ancestors of birds and the dinosaurs, now extinct, shared the same world and struggled to survive in an environment full of challenges. From that evolutionary journey, nearly 11,000 species of modern birds exist today. Thanks to the large amount of fossil evidence discovered by scientists in recent years, the distinction between what we call “dinosaurs” and “birds” has practically disappeared.

In this exhibition, visitors will explore how the extraordinary story of the dinosaurs did not end with their extinction, but continues to live on in those remarkable feathered animals that coexist with us today.

Dinosaurs Among Us was created by the American Museum of Natural History, with support from the Museo de Ciencias de la Universidad de Navarra, the North Museum of Nature and Science, the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum, the Universum Museo de las Ciencias de la UNAM, and the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales.
