Postdoctoral Contract Juan de la Cierva
We look for candidates to apply for a two/three year postdoctoral contract Juan de la Cierva.
Place: Research Group of Patrick S. Fitze at the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (MNCN-CSIC), Madrid and Instituto Pirenaico de Ecología (IPE-CSIC) in Jaca (Huesca)
Foreseen contract start: end of 2021/start of 2022.
RESEARCH TOPICS
The research will focus on population dynamics of lizards and their adaptation to environmental and climatic change. Natural lizard populations will be studied and/or mesocosm population experiments conducted. These studies are essential to understand how environmental changes affect the evolution of life-history strategies and the short and longer-term population viability.
PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has a competitive curriculum vitae that includes:
- Several first author publications in top-ranking journals (Q1).
- A PhD after January 1st, 2016, outside the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (MNCN-CSIC).
- Research stays abroad (outside of Spain).
- Good level of spoken and written English.
- Interested in life-history evolution and population dynamics.
- Experience with doing field work.
- Likes statistics and controls the program R and capture-mark-recapture models.
