Abstract:
Adaptive radiations are thought to be the source of much of the world's biodiversity. Thus, research on the patterns and processes involved in morphological and genomic evolution in adaptive radiations is important for understanding the formation and maintenance of biodiversity. In this talk I will present work on morphological evolution of cichlid fishes from Lake Tanganyika in East Africa, as well as preliminary findings from research on the genomic basis of the adaptive radiation of Timema stick insects.
