I am currently investigating the potential role of the Antropocene stressors of climate change and emergent infectious diseases, such as chytridiomycosis, that are threatening the amphibian diversity of the neotropical region. Specifically, I am studying the diversity changes and its association to Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) disease dynamics and specific life history traits of amphibians from the pacific versant of the Andes in South Colombia. I am also exploring taxonomic, evolutionary, and ecological aspects of the species, and I am studying possible associations between skin microbiome, thermal physiology and species susceptibility to Bd along an elevation range.
