Investigación

As a PhD student, my research focuses on the study of Aphanius iberus, a small fish species endemic to the Iberian Peninsula. Additionally, I am also studying its sister species, Aphanius baeticus, which is also found on the Iberian Peninsula. Both of them are currently threatened with extinction. My research aims to contribute to conservation efforts for these species. To do so, I am developing my skills in several areas, including comparative genomics through SNPs to develop OCUs, conducting studies related to Whole Genome Sequencing, and exploring adaptive traits and genes that are under selection.
