I study the composition of freshwater fish communities in the Iberian Peninsula using environmental DNA (eDNA) techniques. My work focuses on the detection and monitoring of threatened species, with the aim of improving knowledge about their conservation status. At the same time, I assess the presence of non-native species with invasive potential, analyzing their impact on aquatic ecosystems. This molecular approach provides detailed and up-to-date information, even in habitats that are difficult to sample.
